Welcome!
I have been a therapist since 2000. I’m a cis, white, hearing woman. I am LGBTQIA-affirming. I work with individuals - kids, teens, and adults. I also provide supervision, consultation, and trainings. I have experience writing gender affirming care letters (and only need to see the person for 1 or 2 sessions typically) and will provide them for free. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mQo2vls2x1FeCihQmQ0FftY9x5jEvbHykZUWEijSRYQ/edit?usp=sharing and click on your state. Therapy is very much about the relationship between the therapist and the client. It's a place to learn to develop trust in an atmosphere of acceptance. The rapport we develop is the first step to beginning the process of your healing. My specialties include working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss, and survivors of trauma. I look at therapy through a social justice and anti-oppression lens. I believe counseling should offer a safe, non-judgmental opportunity to explore and discover a path to your own place of peace. The goal is wholeness and being present to your life. For more information about these approaches please click on the tabs above. I prioritize remaining person-centered and trauma informed, which basically just means that our sessions are about you and what you want and that I avoid pathologizing behaviors and feelings that could be the result of a traumatic experience. |
